The Match Words: Japanese app does not require an account. Based on the current app design, Match Words does not operate advertising, analytics or behavioural-tracking systems and does not intentionally collect your study activity on a Match Words server.
Information stored on your device
The app stores information needed to remember your preferences and study setup locally on your device. This can include selected words, favourites, custom word packs, practice settings, language-direction settings and similar app preferences.
Match Words does not currently provide a Match Words cloud account or server-side synchronisation service for this information.
In-App Purchases
Paid word packs are purchased using Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the transaction and provides the app with information needed to determine whether a product has been purchased or restored. Match Words does not receive your full payment-card details.
Apple's handling of App Store and purchase information is governed by Apple's own privacy practices.
Speech and audio
Match Words uses speech capabilities provided by the device to play vocabulary audio. The current app does not operate its own speech-recognition service and does not ask you to record your voice.
Contacting us
If you email support@matchwords.app, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address, question and any technical details you provide. We use it to respond to your request and troubleshoot or improve the app where appropriate.
Website
This version of MatchWords.app is a simple informational website and does not intentionally use advertising trackers or analytics. The hosting provider may process standard technical server information required to deliver and secure the website, such as IP addresses and request logs, according to its own systems and retention practices.
Cookies
MatchWords.app does not intentionally set advertising or analytics cookies in this version of the website.
Data sharing
Match Words does not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers where necessary to operate the app or website, such as Apple for App Store purchases and the website hosting provider for delivery of MatchWords.app.
Data retention and deletion
Study preferences stored locally remain on the device until changed, cleared where that option exists, or removed with the app/device data. Support emails may be retained as reasonably necessary to answer requests, maintain support records or meet legal requirements.
To request deletion of personal information contained in support correspondence that we still hold, email support@matchwords.app.
Children
Match Words is a general vocabulary-learning app and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not require account creation or personal information to use its learning features.
Changes to this policy
If Match Words later adds features that change how information is handled — such as accounts, cloud synchronisation or analytics — this policy will be updated.
